A little bit about us

Merry Maids of Croydon began providing domestic cleaning services in Croydon in 2003. Debbie Walker the business owner who previously had worked in Sales and Marketing for a variety of Blue Chip companies. Debbie decided to leave the hustle and bustle in favour of the challenge and rewards of setting up a cleaning franchise business.

Being a mother of two young children and having had a busy career Debbie knew how hard it is to manage and juggle all aspects of life, to ensure you keep that work life balance. So helping other people in a similar position seemed a perfect solution to a career change.

Now, over a decade later, the business employs 23 maids and senior maids. Many of these have worked for Debbie for many years. All our staff take a pride in their work.

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, talks and acts about the condition. Dementia touches the lives of millions of people across the UK. Dementia Friends was launched to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding that means many people with the condition experience loneliness and social exclusion.

The UK population is aging and more and more we are working with families to assist in looking after elderly relatives, who want to stay comfortably living in their homes for as long as possible. Increasingly we are also working for clients who find it more difficult to maintain their household as they would like due to illness or disability.

Merry Maids of Croydon can offer a service that is tailored to the needs of the client. By providing staff and a supporting office that genuinely care about our elder clients.
