A little bit about us

Proudly celebrating 20 years in business in 2019!

Merry Maids Lichfield are a family-run business which has been operating since 1999. In 2011 the second generation of the family, Helen, took over the running of the business from her mother Sheila and her father Malcolm. Helen Bielby and her colleague at Merry Maids, Becky Hewitt, continue to uphold the high level of cleaning offered by Merry Maids Lichfield.

Our owner Helen with her father Malcolm in 2011 celebrating the handover of the business to the next generation – Malcolm previously owned Merry Maids as well as operating a ServiceMaster Clean franchise for over 30 years. Malcolm still helps with the running of Merry Maids as our office ‘handyman’ – servicing our vacuum cleaners and cleaning our equipment each day

Over the past 9 years Merry Maids Sutton Coldfield has expanded significantly and now employs 15 team members. We are the most established and trusted home cleaning service in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth and Walsall. Helen

Helen has co-owned Merry Maids of Lichfield since 2011, having previously worked in all aspects of the business. A self confessed ‘neat freak’ her favourite part of owning Merry Maids is seeing how happy customers are after their first clean. In her spare time she enjoys yoga and playing the piano.

Becky

Becky purchased Merry Maids of Lichfield alongside Helen in 2011, having previously headed up the administration team. Becky loves cleaning and testing out our new product lines. In her spare time she enjoys swimming and travelling.

Mandy

Mandy has worked for Merry Maids for 6 years. Having started with us as a Maid she quickly progressed to a Captain and was then promoted to the Cleaning Executive role, leading on the quality aspects of the business including staff training and ensuring the cleans are carried out to the highest levels of excellence. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog, Blue and spending time with her family.

Each and every room is checked after cleaning to ensure it meets our very high standards. Our supervisor, Mandy, checks all cleans on a rotational basis and after the 1st clean and on a rotational basis after this.

Charity Work / News

Merry Maids of Lichfield are proud to support various charities.

At the end of September, the were honoured to be invited to a very special auction for our local charity, Pathway, which supports adults and children who are experiencing domestic violence. Merry Maids of Lichfield donated a Premier Clean to the auction which we are thrilled made nearly £150 at the auction. Plus Helen and Becky got to meet the whirlwind auctioneer, Charles Hanson, seen on Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip and Cash in the Attic.

Under-counter/single fridge – £15

Double size/American fridge – £20

Freezer Cleaning – £10 (provided if it is a frost freezer it has been defrosted and freezer is empty)

Oven Cleaning – Provided the condition is acceptable.

Note – we don’t provide Aga/Range cleaning

Single oven – £30

Double Oven – £45

Ironing – using customer iron and board

30 minutes (one maid) – £15

1 hour (one maid) – £25

Laundry – A takeaway and return on following clean service. If ironing required to be added on at the above rate. If required to be returned quicker provide a 3 day

turnaround at £5 extra plus travel time and mileage.

Bed changing – if not specified as part of a normal clean

Double/King size – £6
